A Georgia lawyer is probably wishing he would have sprung for that bouquet of flowers last Secretaries' Day. According to the ABA Journal, a Georgia attorney is now facing state charges for distribution of a controlled substance after his secretary secretly recorded him, usually over lunch, discussing the activity.
The odd thing about it is that the secretary helped the same attorney escape federal drug and money-laundering charges last year. The attorney considered the secretary "family," because she had worked for him for eight years. The secretary worked part-time for the accused and part-time for the DA of a Georgia County. Apparently, the secretary was more loyal to her other employer/"family". Or she always wanted to be a detective. Either one.
Remember this lesson come Secretaries' Day (a/k/a Administrative Professionals' Day).
The Fulton County Daily Report also has the story.
